President
Bob Snodgrass

Bob started golfing in Phoenix in the early 80's using clubs given to him by his father-in-law. After playing a few years on a casual basis Bob moved to San Diego. Bob didn't play much there as that area was quite expensive to play and he didn't really know anyone that played. Bob moved back to his home town, Tucson, and joined the family business in 1996.  His father was a member of the Author Pack Men's club and he was able to play almost every weekend with his dad. Bob wishes his dad was still here so they could still play together.

Bob had a very serious right hand injury in 2013 which, after some surgeries, took 5 years before he tried playing golf again. Bob decided to take some golf lessons from Bailey, then the Golf Pro at Del Lago. Bob was fitted for clubs and signed up to the DLMGC.  Bob was nervous as hell the first time with the league and he shot 122 at Sewailo. Having played with DLMGC for a while now he's found a great family of golf enthusiasts to enjoy his weekends with.

Three years ago, Bob participated in the AGA men's club championship. On the first hole he started on, he holed out his second shot for eagle. First Eagle ever! His second most memorable shot was playing with SAMGC and DLMGC at Del Lago. On the 18 hole his tee shot went into the water. Bob dropped the ball, now shooting 3, and holed out for birdie. It was a great day and certainly a true "Be-Back" shot.

Secretary
Stuart Katz

Stuart served as Founding President of the Club and was then Chair of the DLMGC Foundation before rejoining the Board in October, 2023.

He began playing golf in 1961 and remembers his first eagle because he didn’t see the ball go into the hole.  He was playing in Iowa when he made the eagle and hit an 8 iron from 155yds.  He was walking to pick up his divot and as he reached down to pick it up, his playing partners yelled, “It went in!” He vowed then to watch his shots to the green and stop before leaning over. He achieved his first hole-in-one in April 2021 while playing at the Marrio Shadow Ridge Golf Course in Palm Desert, California.  It was on the Par 3, 140-yard hole 17th hole where he used a 9 iron for his ace.

He has participated in the AGA Team Club Championship representing the DLMGC for the past three years where he and his partner Chas Giufurta won their AGA Club Team Championship in the Super Senior Division in December, 2023.  He has also represented the club in the Wellness Tour in Green Valley and the Four Course Challenge.

Treasurer
Chas Giufurta

Charles "Chas" Giufurta has been a member of the DLMGC since 2016 and treasurer since February, 2019.  Chas loves Del Lago as the course is tough but fair and requires a multitude of different shots.

Chas has been playing sports all of his life.  As he grew older, he moved to playing more golf and playing less of other sports.  While golf is now his sport of choice to play, he still enjoys watching many sports such as the football (Dallas Cowboys), baseball (the Atlanta Braves) and of course golf (Phil Mickelson). Chas and his partner, Stuart Katz, recently won the Super Senior Division Net State title this past December, 2023. Now that he has retired, he hopes to improve his game by spending more time playing the sport.

Chas' favorite golf memory was an eagle on 18 at the Preserve only to find he hit the wrong ball! Poor Chas...
